Device settings
Overview
XenSurvey Enterprise introduces the ability to modify certain parameters of the performance and quality testing carried out by the Android app. Specifically, this enables all user devices within a master account to:
1) Use default or custom throughput test frequency on all user devices, and force an override of local device settings;
2) Use default or custom servers for downlink, uplink and latency & packet loss tests.
Editing Device settings
Device settings are edited via the cloud account, and pushed to all users' devices with the XSE account.
1) Log into your XSE cloud account.
2) Select Account in the upper right hand corner.
3) In the Device Settings pane, click Edit device settings.

Throughput test settings
When a user starts a survey on the Android app, XenSurvey asks how frequently to conduct throughput test. By default this is set to 10 minutes and the user can choose this frequency, or another from a pop-up menu. XSE enables the Admin to set parameters from the cloud app that change or override values on all Android devices associated with the account.
Default Frequency
You can change the default frequency by clicking the Custom... radio button and entering a new value in minutes. When a user starts a survey on their Android device, this new value will be the default although the user may change the frequency if they wish.
Force Frequency
You can force a specific frequency for all devices in the account. This is useful in situations where you want all throughput tests to be conducted with the same frequency by all users within a workgroup. The feature can also be used to prevent users from conducting tests too frequently and consuming their monthly data allowances too fast.
1) Set a new custom value as described above.
2) Check the Force Frequency check box. Now all surveys will be conducted with throughput tests at this frequency and the user(s) will not be able to change the value on their Android device.
Server settings
These settings relate to the network performance and quality tests. They enable you to change the servers used for downlink, uplink and quality testing in case you wish to host your own. They are advanced settings and should not be changed without consulting help@xensurvey.com as incorrect use will break the throughput testing function of XenSurvey.
